Softball Recap: Eastern's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

Eastern has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.15 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Wednesday. They came up short against the Piketon Redstreaks, falling 12-2. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Warriors couldn't push the score so high this time.

Eastern moved to 15-5 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak. As for Piketon, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-4.

Coming up, Eastern is taking a road trip to challenge Lynchburg-Clay at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Warriors 3.2, the Mustangs 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Piketon, they will face off against Zane Trace at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
