Football Game Preview: Woodland Cougars vs. Hominy Bucks

The Woodland Cougars are taking a road trip to square off against the Hominy Bucks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

It was a proper cat-fight when Woodland faced off against Barnsdall on Friday. The Cougars simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Panthers 50-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Cougars' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the Panthers are ranked 212th).

Lucky Heath was a one-man wrecking crew as he picked up 94 receiving yards and a pair of scores, and also punched in one TD on the ground. What's more, he posted two receiving touchdowns, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. Patrick Freeman was in the mix as well, providing Woodland with two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Hominy made easy work of Ketchum on Friday and carried off a 34-14 win. The result was nothing new for the Bucks, who have now won three matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Woodland and bumps their season record up to 3-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points over those games. As for Hominy, they now also have a winning record of 3-2.

Everything went Woodland's way against Hominy when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Woodland made off with a 34-14 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
