Baseball Recap: Loyola Has No Trouble Against Notre Dame (SO)

Loyola had lost three games straight , but after bumping their record up to 15-9 on Wednesday that streak is in the rearview. They blew past the Notre Dame (SO) Knights 11-3. The Cubs' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.

Jimmy Levy looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

On the hitting side, Davis Bender was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since April 2nd. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Murray, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

As for Notre Dame (SO), their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-13. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat they have suffered since March 26th.

On Notre Dame (SO)'s side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dru Wilson, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Loyola will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Knights: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
