Basketball Recap: Father Capodanno's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

It was a good run, but Father Capodanno unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 29-23 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sandhills Classical Christian Lions. The Grunts were probably out for revenge after losing 49-43 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Several Grunts players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gemma Farris, who posted three points in addition to eight steals and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Emma Klotz, who had eight points.

Father Capodanno's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Sandhills Classical Christian, the win was the fourth in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Father Capodanno will head out to square off against Spirit of Life Christian Academy at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sandhills Classical Christian, they will venture away from home to take on Mintz Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
