Basketball Recap: Hackett Catholic Prep Comes Up Short

After flying high against Gobles last Tuesday, Hackett Catholic Prep came back down to earth. The Hackett Catholic Prep Fighting Irish took a 45-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Parchment Panthers on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Fighting Irish came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 64th, while the Panthers are ranked 417th).

Hackett Catholic Prep's loss dropped their record down to 17-3. As for Parchment, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 8-11.

Coming up, Hackett Catholic Prep will challenge Michigan Lutheran at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Parchment, they will take on Portage Northern at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
