Basketball Recap: Giles Spartans vs. Narrows Green Waves
Giles was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They fell 48-38 to the Narrows Green Waves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 71-36 last Thursday.
Narrows' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carter Holmes led the charge by going 6 of 11 to rack up 16 points along with eight boards and three steals. Thanks to that strong game, Holmes now owns an excellent 45.5% shooting accuracy. Sam Mcglothlin was another key player, going 6 for 15 on his way to 16 points in addition to six rebounds and three blocks.
Giles' loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Narrows, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-5 record this season.
Giles wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 59-54 defeat against Galax on the 28th. As for Narrows, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-50 loss against James Monroe on the 29th.
