Softball Recap: Granite Hills Takes a Loss

Granite Hills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 13-1 to the Silverado Hawks. The matchup marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

MacKinzie Gomez was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing four bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Granite Hills now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Silverado, they moved to 3-6 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Granite Hills will take on Excelsior Charter at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Granite Hills' pitchers better be ready for this one: Excelsior Charter has averaged an impressive 11.1 runs per game this season. As for Silverado, they have already played their next contest, a 15-2 victory against Hesperia on the 22nd.
