Softball Recap: Mesilla Valley Christian School Extends Winning Streak to Six

Mesilla Valley Christian School had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. They never let the Mescalero Apache Chiefs get on the board and left with a 17-0 win. The result was nothing new for the SonBlazers, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Mesilla Valley Christian School let Joanna Hurd and Stailey Faust run wild. Hurd went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Faust went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases Hurd has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Hackey, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Mesilla Valley Christian School always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Mesilla Valley Christian School pushed their record up to 14-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Mescalero Apache, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-18.

Coming up, Mesilla Valley Christian School will be playing at home against McCurdy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The SonBlazers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bobcats have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season. Mescalero Apache does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
