Volleyball Recap: Southwest EC Has No Trouble Against Holtville

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Southwest EC had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Holtville Vikings with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

One reason for the win was Southwest EC's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-19, 25-7.

Southwest EC found their leader in freshman Cameron Self, who had ten digs. Emiliano Ozuna also deserves some recognition as he had his first digs of the season.

Southwest EC was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. They are 7-1 when they serve at least ten aces.

Southwest EC's victory bumped their record up to 15-21. As for Holtville, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-11.

Looking ahead, Southwest EC will venture away from home to face off against Crawford at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Holtville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
