Softball Recap: Morris Catholic's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Morris Catholic never let their opponents score on Saturday. They came out on top against the Middletown North Lions by a score of 3-0. The victory was nothing new for the Crusaders as they're now sitting on five straight.

The result came thanks to Sofia Reisinger's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Rachel Dunn was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

Morris Catholic pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Middletown North, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Morris Catholic will square off against Madison at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Crusaders are facing the Dodgers at the right time seeing as the Dodgers are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Middletown North, they will take on Marlboro at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
