2020 Florida MaxPreps All-State high school football team

J.J. McCarthy, JC Latham lead seven selections for No. 1 IMG Academy.

IMG Academy has been the No. 1 ranked team all season and are well represented on the 2020 Florida MaxPreps All-State high school football team. They went 8-0 this year and outscored the opposition 381-82 and got a statement win in Texas against No. 7 Duncanville by 27 points.

Naturally, the Ascenders are well-represented on the MaxPreps All-State team with Michigan-bound quarterback  J.J. McCarthy and future Crimson Tide receiver Jacorey Brooks headlining seven selections, the most from any one school.

Central (Miami) and St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale), the respective 6A and 7A champions, each landed five players on the All-State team following impressive runs to a title. Amari Daniels earned his spot by helping the Rockets to back-to-back championships, while Raiders' defensive lineman Dallas Turner helped St. Thomas Aquinas reach unprecedented heights with the school's 12th banner, a Florida best.

The 6A and 7A state champs, Central (Miami) and St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale), have the second most with five each.



The other Florida champions also had strong showings as 5A champion American Heritage (Plantation) placed three players on the team while 4A victors Cardinal Gibbons (Fort Lauderdale) had a pair of selections.

In total, 30 different schools have at least one player featured and eight had multiple selections.

Thirty-six seniors were selected, 12 juniors and two sophomores represent the 50 players featured on the 2020 MaxPreps All-State high school football team.

First Team Offense
