Softball Recap: Space Coast Takes a Loss

After flying high against Cocoa Beach last Tuesday, Space Coast came back down to earth. Space Coast fell just short of the Rockledge Raiders by a score of 4-2 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Vipers have suffered since March 6, 2024.

Space Coast has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season. Rockledge is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Space Coast will venture away from home to take on Astronaut at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Astronaut will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Space Coast surely won't give up without a fight. As for Rockledge, they are taking a road trip to challenge Sebastian River at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rockledge's pitchers better be ready for this one: Sebastian River has averaged an impressive 9.3 runs per game this season.
