Basketball Recap: Wyoming East Warriors vs. Summers County Bobcats
The Wyoming East Warriors entered their tilt with the Summers County Bobcats with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Wyoming East snuck past the Bobcats with a 43-38 victory on Friday. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Wyoming East has scored all year.
Wyoming East's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cadence Blackburn led the charge by scoring 17 points along with four steals and two blocks. Blackburn has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Clark, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Wyoming East has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season. As for Summers County, their defeat ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wyoming East will take on the Cavaliers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Summers County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cavaliers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Greenbrier West is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
