Basketball Game Preview: West Forsyth Titans vs. Mount Tabor Spartans

The West Forsyth Titans are taking a road trip to take on the Mount Tabor Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, West Forsyth was able to grind out a solid win over East Forsyth, taking the game 45-36.

Meanwhile, Mount Tabor waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Mustangs 56-54.

Mount Tabor found their leader in sophomore Brooke Cilento, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 13 boards. Those 16 points gave Cilento a new career-high. Shaymiah Bailey was another key player, dropping a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds.

Mount Tabor smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in five consecutive contests.

Mount Tabor's win bumped their record up to 8-14. As for West Forsyth, they now have a winning record of 12-11.

West Forsyth beat Mount Tabor 54-43 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Forsyth since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
