Football Recap: Whites Creek Piles Up the Points Against Trousdale County

After losing to Trousdale County the last time they met, Whites Creek decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Cobras blew past the Yellowjackets, posting a 40-10 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cobras.

Deon Barnes was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 45 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 171 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (152.1). Whites Creek's leading receiver De'Aries Holland was Barnes' top target yet again, picking up 71 receiving yards and one score.

Whites Creek didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Rontez Moore and Brandon Powell. Moore got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Whites Creek has also opened the season with a perfect 2-0 record. As for Trousdale County, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Whites Creek will head out to face off against Mount Juliet Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Trousdale County, they will face off against Innovation Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
