Basketball Recap: Tobey White's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Crismon over Tempe

Crismon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 55-50 heartbreaker at the hands of the Tempe Buffaloes. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rattlers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 58-48 back in November of 2024.

Crismon lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Tobey White, who posted nine points along with seven boards and three steals. That's the most steals White has posted since back in December of 2023. Cameron Pope also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

Even though they lost, Crismon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Tempe's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nassir Cobbs, who had 17 points and five steals. Cobbs has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Deryke Tucker, who scored eight points in addition to ten rebounds and five blocks.

Crismon's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Tempe, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Crismon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 62-25 defeat against ALA - Gilbert North on the 23rd. Tempe has also already played their next contest, a 67-65 loss against Desert Sunrise on the 22nd.
