Recap: Minden Whippets vs. Cozad Haymakers        
        
		
            
 The Minden Whippets struggled with  assists on Tuesday (the Cozad Haymakers had eight more) and sadly the final score reflected it. The  game between  the pair wasn't particularly close, with Minden falling  54-35. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest  points they have scored all season.
 Minden's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Luke Grollmes, who  scored eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Brycen Schwenka, who  scored ten points.
 Cozad was led to victory by  Kellen Shoemaker and  Monty Brooks-follmer.  Shoemaker  scored 13 points along with five  rebounds, while  Brooks-follmer  scored 11 points along with three  steals. Another player making a difference was  Noah Shoemaker, who  scored five points along with five  steals.
 Minden's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Cozad,  the  win  makes it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 13-3.
 Minden will square off against Valentine at 5:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Hopefully Valentine focused on turnovers this week  since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday. As for Cozad, they will take on Gothenburg at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another  in Nebraska (Gothenburg is ranked 35th, while Cozad is ranked 24th).
