Preview: Bruce Trojans vs. Palmer Dragons
Having just played yesterday, the Bruce Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Palmer Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Bruce suffered their closest loss yet this season on Wednesday. They fell just short of Water Valley by a score of 61-59. Bruce just can't catch a break and has now endured four defeats in a row.
The losing side was boosted by Ankavious Glass, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 18 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jay Cole Williams, who scored 14 points.
Palmer suffered their biggest loss yet this season two weeks ago. They had to suffer through a rough 85-55 loss at the hands of Douglass. While losing is never fun, Palmer can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 180th in Mississippi, while Douglass is ranked 18th in Tennessee).
Bruce has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Palmer, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-12.
