Basketball Recap: Hammond Baptist Extends Winning Streak to Three

Hammond Baptist won the last time they faced Victory Christian Academy and things went their way on Friday too. The Hammond Baptist Swordsmen managed a 53-47 victory over the Victory Christian Academy Lions. That's two games straight that the Swordsmen have won by exactly six points.

Victory Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carter Herrold, who went 8-for-11 en route to 20 points. The dominant performance gave Herrold a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Gavin Whitaker, who posted 13 points.

The win (which was Hammond Baptist's third in a row) raised their record to 12-1. As for Victory Christian Academy, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-7.
