Softball Recap: Hunter Wolverines vs. Green Canyon Wolves

Hunter was the 6-4 winner over Green Canyon when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wolverines took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolves on Tuesday. The Wolverines have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

KENYA LAPUAHO put in work while hitting and pitching. She tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in May of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, ALEXA OLSEN was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was LOIANA IONGI, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

Hunter's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Green Canyon, their win bumped their record up to 8-16.

Coming up, Hunter will square off against American Fork at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Green Canyon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
