Basketball Preview: Chrisman Cardinals vs. DeLand-Weldon Eagles
Chrisman is 4-0 against DeLand-Weldon since December of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Chrisman Cardinals will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the DeLand-Weldon Eagles at 6:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Chrisman's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while DeLand-Weldon has been banged up by 16 consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.
Last Saturday, Chrisman ended up a good deal behind Heritage and lost 56-37. The Cardinals were down 48-27 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Chrisman might have lost, but man, Statler Mitchell was a machine: he went 7 for 14 on his way to 19 points in addition to six rebounds and five blocks. Mitchell is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted three or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gage Tingley, who posted six points.
Meanwhile, DeLand-Weldon took a blow against Mt. Olive on Saturday, falling 61-32.
