Basketball Game Preview: East River Falcons vs. Winter Park Wildcats

East River hasn't had much luck against Winter Park recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The East River Falcons will square off against the Winter Park Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in East River's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.

East River picked up another tournament win on Tuesday. They walked away with a 56-48 victory over Timber Creek. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Wolves are ranked 212th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Winter Park challenged Lake Nona on Tuesday. Winter Park came out on top against Lake Nona by a score of 45-37. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Winter Park pushed their record up to 10-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for East River, their record is now 13-3.

East River came up short against Winter Park when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 62-49. Can East River avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
