Blue Valley West's loss ends three-game winning streak at home

On Friday, the Blue Valley West Jaguars faced the Blue Valley Northwest Huskies in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Blue Valley West was beaten by Blue Valley Northwest 79-47. Blue Valley West's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Blue Valley Northwest had a senior duo take command as Joey Matteoni scored 23 points and Jake Fritz scored 23 points along with three steals. Fritz is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for four games straight. Another player making a difference was Trevor Garlington, who scored 11 points.

Blue Valley West's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-4. As for Blue Valley Northwest, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blue Valley West will square off against Bishop Miege at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Blue Valley West is facing Bishop Miege at the right time seeing as Bishop Miege is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Blue Valley Northwest, they will head out on the road to face off against Blue Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Blue Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Blue Valley Northwest likes a good challenge.
