Basketball Recap: Gardner Gets the Win

If Blackstone-Millville wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Gardner, they should've done a better job of containing Will Erickson. The Wildcats came out on top in a nail-biter against the Chargers on Wednesday, sneaking past 60-58 thanks in part to Erickson, who posted 23 points. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 21 points.

Blackstone-Millville lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jackson Dunton, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Karson Cournoyer, who put up 17 points and five steals.

Gardner's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Blackstone-Millville, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Gardner didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-37 victory against Tahanto Regional on the 16th. As for Blackstone-Millville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 60-40 win against Blackstone Valley RVT on the 16th.
