Baseball Recap: Gunderson Beats Yerba Buena for Their Third Straight Win

Gunderson had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 20-6 margin over the Yerba Buena Aztec Warriors. That's more bragging rights for the Grizzlies, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Cash Duffy-Smith was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Duffy-Smith was also big at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. He also hit four doubles, marking his first of the season.

In other batting news, Gunderson got a massive performance out of Chanze Jaime, who scored four runs and stole Five bases. while going 3-for-4. Jaime also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Brandon Salgado was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs.

Gunderson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .578. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Gunderson now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Yerba Buena, their loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.
