Basketball Recap: Carolina Academy Comes Up Short

Carolina Academy won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They were outmatched by the St. Joseph's Catholic Knights and fell 55-17. The Trojans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-8.

Janaria Taylor was Carolina Academy's leading scorer, having posted seven points.

Evie Adams continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for St. Joseph's Catholic, going 6 for 9 on her way to 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Armocida, who posted eight points and six boards.

Carolina Academy's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-12. As for St. Joseph's Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Carolina Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 58-30 loss against Powdersville on the 23rd. As for St. Joseph's Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-48 defeat against Arborbrook Christian Academy on the 18th.
