Volleyball Recap: FBCHA Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

FBCHA had won four straight on the road, but on Thursday they bumped up to 18-5 to make it five. They put the hurt on the Lutheran South Academy Pioneers with a sharp 3-0 win. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory the Pioneers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

FBCHA's offense was headlined by Melody Coleman and Brooke Toliver, who picked up ten kills apiece. They got some help from Izabella Pham and her 21 assists. She also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Victoria Shupe, racking up three apiece.

As for Lutheran South Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss they have suffered since August 21st.

Despite the defeat, Lutheran South Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Charlie Marsico had 12 digs and three assists. Faith Goodwin also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

FBCHA and Lutheran South Academy should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Eagles (ranked 178th) will meet Village (ranked 1204th) at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lutheran South Academy will face off against Incarnate Word Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (185 vs. 920).
