Basketball Recap: Tamaqua Comes Up Short

Tamaqua lost against Blue Mountain back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Tamaqua Blue Raiders fell 71-64 to the Blue Mountain Eagles. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (58), the Blue Raiders still had to take the loss.

Loss or not, Tamaqua got some senior leadership from Noah Mateyak and Cooper Ansbach. Mateyak posted 23 points, while Ansbach put up 23 points. That was a full 35.9% of Tamaqua's points, marking the third time in a row he's scored more than a third of the team's points. Brady Mccabe was another key player, putting up eight points.

Tamaqua is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13. As for Blue Mountain, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tamaqua has already played their next contest (against Pine Grove), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Blue Mountain has also has no score uploaded for their next matchup, this one against Schuylkill Valley.
