Baseball Recap: Austin Comes Up Short

Austin came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 15-9 to the Owatonna Huskies. The Packers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Huskies apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Noah Dunlap stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Jacobsen, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Austin's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Austin is set to take on their familiar foe Red Wing at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Owatonna will face off against rival Mayo at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
