Softball Game Preview: Brawley Wildcats vs. Imperial Tigers

For the second straight game, Brawley will face off against Imperial. The Wildcats will be playing at home against the Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

It was a proper cat-fight when Brawley faced off against Imperial on Tuesday. The Wildcats fell 4-1 to the Tigers. The Wildcats have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

For Imperial's part, Jayden Rutledge spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 11 Ks.

On the hitting side, Clarissa Davila was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.

Imperial hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in four consecutive games.

Imperial pushed their record up to 17-5 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Brawley, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-15.
