Basketball Recap: Sumter Central Comes Up Short

Sumter Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Clarke County Bulldogs, falling 49-28. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 340th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 120th).

Sumter Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Clarke County, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-4.

Sumter Central has already played their next contest (against Greensboro), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Clarke County will square off against Washington County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Washington County has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
