Softball Recap: Lake Minneola Takes a Loss

The Lake Minneola Hawks came up short against the Harmony Longhorns on Wednesday and fell 8-3. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lake Minneola saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kenzie Merkey, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those two runs gave Merkey a new career-high.

Lake Minneola's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Harmony, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Minneola will take on Umatilla at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Harmony, they will face off against Lake Howell at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Harmony's pitchers better be ready for this one: Lake Howell has averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
