Preview: Tulia Hornets vs. River Road Wildcats
Tulia is on a five-game streak of home losses, River Road a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Tulia Hornets will take on the River Road Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Tulia lost to Canadian on the road by a decisive 60-44 margin. While losing is never fun, Tulia can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1118th, while Canadian is ranked 479th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Logan Becerra, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nic Carrasco, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, River Road ended up a good deal behind Caprock on Tuesday and lost 60-41.
Tulia has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for River Road, they now have a losing record at 10-11.
Tulia took a serious blow against River Road in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 71-16. Can Tulia avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
