Monroe Catholic enters season with target on back after reeling off 48 wins in a row over the past two seasons. Also watch out for Service, West, Colony and Anchorage Christian.

MaxPreps 2014-15 Alaska Boys Basketball Fab 5 presented by the Army National Guard

1. Monroe Catholic (Fairbanks)
2013-14 record: 28-0, Class 3A state champions
Head coach: Gary Drexler

The Rams enter the season riding a 48-game win streak and a Class 3A three-peat. While the team said good bye to Gatorade State Player of the Year Scooter Bynum, senior guard Jalon McCullough could emerge as a candidate for the same award.

2. Service (Anchorage)
2013-14 record: 22-5, Class 4A state champions
Head coach: Tyler Moor



Pindo Drammeh, a 6-foot-8 center who had a double-double in last year's state championship game, and Brad Wacker return to help the Cougars make a run at back-to-back titles.

3. West (Anchorage)
2013-14 record: 20-7, Class 4A runner-up
Head coach: Antonio Wyche

Several standout seniors are gone from last year's team that reached state championship game, but 6-8 junior Brandon Huffman and 6-6 sophomore Noah Christy are a good start in the retooling process.

4. Colony (Palmer)
2013-14 record: 20-9
Head coach: Tom Berg



The Knights will miss Damien Fulp, now playing at Alaska-Anchorage, but Graham Dinkel (6-4, Sr., F) and Bailey West (6-3, Jr., G) should keep Colony in contention.

5. Anchorage Christian
2013-14 record: 24-3
Head coach: Ron Hoffman

Knocking off Monroe Catholic will be a tough task in Class 3A, but seniors Levi Auble (6-5, Sr.,) and Bobby Wilson (6-1, G) make the Lions a solid bet to notch the program's fourth 20-win season in a row.
