Softball Game Preview: Wilmington Christian Academy Patriots vs. Bethel Christian Academy Trojans

Wilmington Christian Academy is 0-3 against Bethel Christian Academy since April of 2024 but things could change on Tuesday. The Patriots will host the Trojans at 4:00 p.m. Wilmington Christian Academy has given up an average of 8.8 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Monday just wasn't the day for Wilmington Christian Academy's offense. They came up short against Wilson Christian Academy last Monday, falling 14-0. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Emersyn Smith and Suzanne Rouse were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Smith tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Rouse tossed three innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. At the plate, Smith scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Rouse went 3-for-4 with six RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those six RBI gave Rouse a new career-high.

In other batting news, Emma Ingram was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Lillie Turner was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Bethel Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Wilmington Christian Academy, they now have a losing record of 2-3-1.

Wilmington Christian Academy might still be hurting after the 16-0 loss they got from Bethel Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in March.
