Metro-East Lutheran scored the most points they've had this season on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Riverview Gardens Rams an easy 58-32 win. The Knights just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emily Kober, who posted eight points and 12 boards. That's the most rebounds Kober has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Simaytis, who earned eight points and nine rebounds.

Metro-East Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Riverview Gardens, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.

Metro-East Lutheran will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Maryville Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Riverview Gardens will also get a bit of a break before their next match: they'll face off against Central at 4:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
