Baseball Recap: Five Straight Road Wins for River Bluff

River Bluff won against Chapin last Thursday with four runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Gators' pitchers stepped up to hand the Fairfield Central Griffins a 4-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-0 back in March.

River Bluff pushed their record up to 13-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Fairfield Central, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. River Bluff will square off against Dutch Fork at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Gators 2.7, the Silver Foxes 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Fairfield Central, they will take on Clinton at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
