Basketball Recap: Freedom Christian Academy Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Freedom Christian Academy won the last time they faced The O'Neal School, and Zarah Lewis did her part to make sure it happened again. The Freedom Christian Academy Patriots secured a 54-48 W over The O'Neal School Falcons on Tuesday thanks in part to Lewis, who posted 16 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in boards.

The team also got some help courtesy of Izzie Dalton-Jimenez, who scored five points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. She has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played.

The O'Neal School's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamaya Hooker, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards. Kennedi Hamner was another key player, putting up eight points along with 11 rebounds and six steals.

Freedom Christian Academy's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 37 points. As for The O'Neal School, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-6.

Freedom Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 67-45 defeat against Trinity Christian on the 29th. The O'Neal School has also already played their next matchup, a 44-17 win against Berean Baptist Academy on the 31st.
