Eldorado is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Atrisco Heritage Academy on Thursday as Eldorado made off with a 17-6 victory. The result was nothing new for the Golden Eagles, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Ethan Marquez was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with seven RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those seven RBI gave him a new career-high. Timothy Kamphuis was another key player, getting on base in three of his six plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and two RBI.
Eldorado always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .551. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Atrisco Heritage Academy only posted an OBP of .394.
West Mesa's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Valencia on Tuesday. West Mesa put the hurt on Highland with a sharp 15-5 win. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now won seven in a row.
Armoni Baca made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He is becoming a predictor of West Mesa's success: when he allows at most three hits the team is 3-1 (and 3-7 when he doesn't). Baca was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Daniel Rodriguez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. He has become a key player for West Mesa: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 3-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Ayden Gonzales, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
West Mesa pushed their record up to 6-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.7 runs over those games. As for Eldorado, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.
Saturday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Eldorado has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .437. However, it's not like West Mesa struggles in that department as they've averaged .440. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Eldorado's way against West Mesa when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Eldorado made off with a 15-0 victory. Will Eldorado repeat their success, or does West Mesa has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
