Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Columbia Academy). They were the clear victors by a 17-5 margin over the Parklane Academy Pioneers on Thursday. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 18 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Columbia Academy got a massive performance out of Jackson Speir, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Carson Stuart, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Columbia Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .592. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Parklane Academy only posted an OBP of .382.

The win (which was Columbia Academy's ninth in a row) raised their record to 28-8. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Parklane Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-14.
