Softball Game Preview: Alexandria Trojans vs. Florien Blackcats

The Alexandria Trojans will take on the Florien Blackcats at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Alexandria is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Jena just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Giants. The game marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Alexandria saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mattison Bernard, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Meanwhile, Florien was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 21-1 to Jena.

Alexandria's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Florien, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Alexandria took their victory against Florien when the teams last played on Friday by a conclusive 19-3. Does Alexandria have another victory up their sleeve, or will Florien turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
