Baseball Recap: Archie Williams Makes It Five in a Row at Home

There's no place like home for Archie Williams, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the Albany Cougars on Monday. For the Peregrine Falcons, this counts as revenge for the 5-3 victory the Cougars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2022.

Archie Williams saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was August Block, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those two runs gave Block a new career-high. Another was Miki Accomazzo, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Archie Williams' win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Albany, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Archie Williams will face off against Analy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Albany, they will take on Salesian College Preparatory at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cougars are facing the Pride at the right time seeing as the Pride are stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
