Soccer Recap: Shelley Comes Up Short

Shelley and Skyline combined for 25 shots on goal on Thursday, which explains the impressive eight total goals scored. While the 4-4 score might suggest a draw, it was the Grizzlies who were credited with the win. The Skyline Grizzlies got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to the Shelley Russets' three. One thing that didn't help Shelley's chances was the red card they were dealt courtesy of Landon Anderson.

Shelley hit Skyline with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Daniel Chavez, Joel Mora, Tristan Howell, and Tyler Williams.

This is the second loss in a row for Shelley and nudges their season record down to 9-8-2. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored eight goals over those two contests. As for Skyline, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7-3.

Shelley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Skyline, they will take on Idaho Falls at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
