Basketball Game Preview: Capistrano Valley Cougars vs. Providence Patriots

The Capistrano Valley Cougars and the Providence Patriots will face off at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday without much rest, having both just played. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Wednesday, Capistrano Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Laguna Beach, taking the game 59-47. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Breakers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Providence). They claimed a resounding 86-34 victory over Oak Grove. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Patriots with their most commanding win of the season.

Capistrano Valley's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Providence, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
