Baseball Recap: Atlantic Trojans vs. Jefferson Yellowjackets

Atlantic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 20th straight defeat. They fell just short of the Jefferson Yellowjackets by a score of 5-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Atlantic of the 7-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in July of 2023.

For Jefferson's part, they got a great performance from Aiden Moore as he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits.

At the plate, Jefferson saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aaron Grell, who went 1-for-3 with a triple and a run. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Anderson, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Atlantic will be playing at home against Bondurant-Farrar at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Jefferson, they will head out on the road to face off against Harlan at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Harlan's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Jefferson has been banged up by 13 consecutive losses on the road.
