South Elgin was the 2-0 winner over West Aurora when they last played one another back in September, but their luck changed this time around. The Storm fell just short of the Blackhawks by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The Storm's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Camryn Boyd paced South Elgin's offense, picking up 16 kills. Boyd got some help from Paige Genke and her 30 assists. Julia Pachuta controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

West Aurora can attribute much of their success to Angelina Ortiz, who had 13 digs. That's the most digs Ortiz has posted since back in September.

South Elgin's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 18-7. As for West Aurora, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.

South Elgin wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against St. Charles East on the 15th. As for West Aurora, they will face off against Benet Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
