Baseball Recap: New Lothrop Comes Up Short

The matchup between New Lothrop and Ovid-Elsie on Monday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Hornets came up short against the Marauders, falling 16-6. The Hornets haven't had much luck with the Marauders recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Diam Edwards and Nathan Kuchar did some serious damage despite the final result: Edwards went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Kuchar went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. New Lothrop is 3-1 when Kuchar posts two or more runs, but 9-13 otherwise.

New Lothrop's loss dropped their record down to 12-14. As for Ovid-Elsie, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.
