Football Recap: Watkins Memorial Takes a Loss

Watkins Memorial might've scored the first points on Friday, but it was Teays Valley who claimed the real prize. The Warriors lost 35-14 to the Vikings. The match was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but the Warriors couldn't quite close it out.

Teays Valley had a senior duo take command as Cavin McDowell picked up 124 receiving yards and two touchdowns and Brady Farmer threw for 171 yards and a pair of TDs.

Watkins Memorial now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Teays Valley, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Watkins Memorial will head out to take on Bishop Hartley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Teays Valley, they will challenge Lancaster at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Vikings' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
