Game recap: Dalton High School Football Team bests Ridgeland

DALTON, Ga. - Dalton (Ga.) kept up a steady attack all game long to defeat Ridgeland (Rossville, Ga.), 27-0, on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a Payton Veraldi touchdown pass to Peter Sigmon in the first quarter, the Catamounts were up 21-0 at the half.

Dalton expanded its lead to 27 points entering the fourth quarter. DHS scored once in the quarter on a touchdown.

The Catamounts scored 14 points in the second quarter on the way to a win. Dalton scored on a touchdown pass by Veraldi to Chase Westfall and a touchdown run by Eder Mora in the quarter.



The loss was the third in a row for the Panthers. With the win DHS extended its winning streak to three games.

Dalton (3-2) goes up against Northwest Whitfield in a AAAA Region 7B game matchup next week, while Ridgeland (1-4) locks horns with Southeast Whitfield County also in a AAAA Region 7B game.
