If Portland was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Holt on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Raiders fell just short of the Jonesville Comets by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The Raiders' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Portland's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Jonesville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1-1.

Portland will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on East Grand Rapids at 7:00 p.m. on September 3. As for Jonesville, they have already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Climax-Scotts on the 23rd.
